A shocking incident has come to light in Pakistan in which more than 5 lakh rupees were found in the pocket of a beggar. The elderly beggar was lying unconscious on the road and money was found in his pocket during the rescue while taking him to the hospital.
According to a report by Pakistan’s news channel Geo TV, the beggar was found unconscious on Khushab Road in Sargodha district of Punjab province. The rescue team that took the old man to the hospital said that Rs 5 lakh 34 thousand were found from him.
The beggar has been to Saudi Arabia many times

A passport was also found near the beggar which showed that he had visited Saudi Arabia many times. It is being speculated that the old man used to go to Saudi Arabia to beg.
The local official said, ‘An unknown call was received after which the rescue team reached to help the elderly man. The people living there told the team that the man begs in the same area.’
Rescue officials said that the old man was taken to the hospital and after he recovered, all his money and belongings were returned to him while he was going home.
Pakistanis begging in Saudi on Umrah visa
In September last year, there were reports that Pakistani citizens were going to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visa and begging.
The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development told the Senate Committee on Overseas Pakistanis that a large number of beggars were going abroad through human trafficking channels.
The ministry told the Senate committee that 90% of the beggars arrested abroad are Pakistanis.
The secretary of the ministry said, ‘The ambassadors of Iraq and Saudi Arabia have reported that their jails have become overcrowded due to such arrests. Most of the pickpockets caught outside Masjid al Haram in Saudi Arabia are of Pakistani origin. These people reach Saudi on Umrah visa to beg.’
