In Firozabad, UP, the in-laws killed the new bride for not getting a car worth Rs 15 lakh in dowry. According to the report, the girl was married just 14 days ago. The girl’s family alleged that their daughter was murdered on Sunday. The incident took place in Bichhwan village of Sisauli police station area of Mainpur.
According to the father of the deceased bride, the groom Atul had called the girl’s mother at 1.58 pm on Sunday night and told her to convince her daughter or else he would kill her by strangling her. After this the phone got disconnected. In fact, Udayveer, who lives in Bichhwan village, had married his 27-year-old daughter Anamika to Atul Kumar of Bhekanpur village on 14 July 2024, i.e. 15 days ago. The marriage of both was done with great pomp and show.
Since Atul was doing BTC (Basic Teaching Certificate 2 year course) from District Education and Training Institute Firozabad and Anamika was also doing BTC from the same institute, the issue of dowry did not come up in the marriage earlier. But from the second day of marriage, Atul Kumar (groom), father-in-law Ramesh Chand, mother-in-law Mithilesh, brother-in-law Jitendra Singh started demanding a car worth Rs 15 lakh from the girl.

Atul used to repeatedly tell Anamika that his father Udayveer had given a car as dowry in the marriage of Anamika’s elder sister, so now he also wants a car worth 15 lakhs. A lot of pressure was put on Anamika regarding this matter and she started getting beaten up.
Anamika also told her father many times that her in-laws were beating her up because she did not get a car. On Sunday evening also she told her father that she was being tortured. Her in-laws were hell-bent on killing her for dowry.
After this, the girl’s father Udayveer also talked to his son-in-law several times and asked him to sit and settle the matter, but on Sunday evening he received a call from his daughter Anamika. On the phone, she told him that her in-laws were beating her badly. After this, Anamika’s phone got switched off. After this, late on Sunday night, Atul’s phone reached Udayveer and he said that your daughter is dead, take her away.
In a hurry, Udayveer from Mainpuri reached his daughter’s in-laws’ house in Bhikhanpur village in the morning where his daughter’s body was lying on the ground. After this, the father of the deceased girl filed a case of murder for dowry against the in-laws. According to the SP, a case has been filed against 6 people and raids are being conducted to arrest them.
