‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is bringing back the lost glory of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in India. This film, which released in theatres on Friday, started doing wonders from the very first day and proved that the craze for MCU is still the same among the fans.

The only problem is that the public is not as comfortable connecting with the new superhero characters as they are with the old characters. Ryan Reynolds’ character Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s character Wolverine aka Logan are among the most popular characters of the MCU. And the coming together of these two is attracting huge crowds in the theatres.

The magic of MCU dominated the weekend
‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ opened with a net collection of Rs 21 crore (all versions) in India on Friday. This year, except Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Fighter’ and Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ (Hindi), no Hindi film has managed to open with Rs 20 crore.

The earnings of MCU’s latest film jumped on Saturday and it collected Rs 22.68 crore. Now, according to Saccanilk, the film continued to attract huge crowds on Sunday as well and collected Rs 23 crore. In 3 days, ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ has collected Rs 66.65 crore in India.

Hollywood film is earning better than Bollywood
Apart from ‘Fighter’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, no Hindi film released in 2024 has been able to earn 60 crores in the first weekend. This includes hits like Hindi big star Ajay Devgan’s ‘Shaitan’ and Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Crew’.

The amazing thing is that the Hindi version of the Hollywood film ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ alone has earned 25.8 crores in the first weekend. Bollywood hits like ‘Teri Baato Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, ‘Article 370’ also collected almost the same amount in the weekend.

The last film of the Hindi film industry’s big star Akshay Kumar, ‘Sarfira’, collected Rs 12.50 crores at the box office in the first weekend. Whereas the Hollywood film ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, with Hindi dubbing, has collected almost double this amount in the first weekend.
