The basement of RAU’s IAS coaching centre in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi suddenly got flooded on Saturday evening. Three students died due to water logging in the basement. Delhi Police and Municipal Corporation have started their investigation on different aspects of this case. On Sunday, the police arrested the coaching owner and coordinator in this case. Now an inside video of the flooding in the basement of the coaching has surfaced. In the video, water can be seen coming inside the basement rapidly.

This insight video is from inside the library located in the basement of coaching institute RAU’s IAS Study Circle, which was shot by a student present inside the library. Water is visible everywhere in the video.

In the video, you can see that due to water filling in the basement, the books kept in the library are floating and the tables and chairs kept there are seen drowning. Some students are also seen in this video who are talking to each other after coming out from there.

Many revelations were made in the MCD investigation

Earlier, the Delhi Municipal Corporation has made many shocking revelations in its investigation. The corporation said in its investigation that in August last year, the corporation had issued a show cause notice, but even after the notice, the institute did not stop misusing the basement and the building.

The MCD, in its investigation, found that the property owner had violated the building bylaws in the matter of use of the basement. The basement was allowed only for parking and storage. But the use of the basement as a library and reading hall was not allowed. However, stacking/stocking of books could be done. The storage was used for coaching/library. If the approval norms had been followed, this accident could have been avoided.

Last year, when the survey was started on the orders of the court after the fire incident in Mukherjee Nagar, even then the MCD found that the owner of this coaching centre was violating the building rules up to the top three floors including the basement.

three students died

When this matter reached the DC of Karol Bagh zone, the owner managed to get the most important fire NOC on 9th July this year, but still did not stop misusing the basement and the three upper floors. So the basement got flooded, in which three UPSC aspirants died.

7 people arrested so far

Let us tell you that in this case, Delhi Police has arrested five more accused, including the owner of the basement and the person who damaged the gate of the building. So far 7 people have been arrested in this case.
