India has opened its medal account in the Paris Olympics. Indian shooter Manu Bhaker has created history by winning a bronze medal in shooting. She won the bronze medal in the 10 meter air pistol event and thus became the first Indian shooter to win a medal in the Olympics. Manu scored a total of 221.7 points in the final. This was India’s first medal in the current Paris Olympics. Also, this was India’s fifth medal in shooting in the history of the Olympics. Korean players Oh Ye Jin won the gold (243.2 points) and Kim Yeji (241.3) won the silver medal.

As soon as Manu Bhaker hit the medal, the country rejoiced. Shooter Manu Bhaker is getting congratulations from all sides. PM Modi has congratulated her and called her victory historic. PM Modi has called Manu Bhaker’s success an incredible achievement.

PM Modi posted on X and wrote, ‘Well done, for winning India’s first medal at ParisOlympics2024! Congratulations for the bronze medal. This success is even more special because she has become the first woman to win a medal in shooting for India. An incredible achievement!
