Delhi Police has arrested a murder accused who was absconding for 30 years from Kanpur. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amit Goyal said that to arrest 51-year-old accused Prem Narayan, the police team raided the house of a caterer in Delhi and then a builder in Kanpur. Accused Prem Narayan, his father and his uncle were involved in the murder of a man named Shambhu Dayal in Narela, Delhi in 1993.

According to the agency, Shambhu Dayal and his two associates Munni Lal and Daya Ram were pressuring Prem Narayan to get his daughter married in his village Bhidaura in Uttar Pradesh. When Prem Narayan refused, an argument ensued and he killed Shambhu Dayal. During the investigation, Prem Narayan, his father and his uncle were declared proclaimed offenders by a Delhi court in 1994.

A few days ago, Sub Inspector Ritesh Kumar came to know that Prem Narayan was going to attend his nephew’s wedding on July 11. So the Sub Inspector joined the catering team and kept an eye on the wedding ceremony in Delhi. Although the accused did not appear, his wife and children arrived at the ceremony.
