Actor Mukesh Rishi seems to be missing from the film industry these days. Mukesh is known for his role of Police Inspector Salim in the film ‘Sarfarosh’. This film of Aamir Khan was a big hit in its time. Recently, in an interview, Mukesh said that the film ‘Sarfarosh’ has been the most memorable film of his career so far.

Mukesh narrated the story
Sharing an anecdote related to the film, Mukesh said- When the film was released, I went to my home in Jammu. I also had to visit Mata Vaishno Devi. So I thought I should go. I thought that after this film I will get a lot of offers. When I went for darshan, Aamir Khan must have called me, but due to network problem, the call did not reach me. Later I was told that Aamir Khan was trying to call me, but the call was not received.

In a conversation with Radio Nasha, Mukesh Rishi said- I called Aamir Khan after the darshan. Aamir said- where are you? I said- I am in Jammu. Aamir said- you should have been here in Mumbai. I could not understand at that time, later I realized that Aamir was right. But at that time I had no sense of business or films.

Mukesh told that after the release and success of the film, Aamir Khan had organized a party at his house, where he was also invited. At that time, Mukesh got a chance to meet many people from the industry. Mukesh thought that now he will start getting work. He has met so many people, someone will definitely give him work. If you attend parties while being in the film industry, then it benefits you and your career a lot.

Mukesh said that though not in the film industry, but yes, after ‘Sarfarosh’ my career got a push. Not in Hindi, but I started getting a lot of offers from South films. Mostly they were negative roles. This was shocking and surprising for me because I had played the role of a good man in Aamir’s film. But I was getting offers for the role of a villain. I have played a lot of roles in my career, but I still remember the respect I got from ‘Sarfarosh’.
