Mother also died while saving her daughter, two people died due to falling of high tension wire in Bareilly

A woman and her four-year-old daughter died due to electric shock in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Officials said that on Friday a high tension electric wire broke and fell on them, killing the mother and daughter.

According to a news agency report, Aarti Devi (30) and her daughter Tanu had come to attend a function at their relative’s place in Sakras village. Bareilly’s Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Santosh Bahadur Singh said, around 1 pm, they went to the roof of the house when a high-tension electricity wire snapped and fell on Tanu’s leg.

The officer said that Aarti ran to save her daughter but she also came in contact with the electric wire and both died on the spot. After the incident, the villagers protested against the electricity department for negligence. Due to this, the Beheri police who reached the spot also had to face heavy opposition.

Baheri Sub-Divisional Officer Premchand Yadav said that the family of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh. The villagers have demanded action against the accused and removal of the high tension line passing above the house.

Executive Engineer Chaman Prakash said that after the incident, the services of lineman Om Prakash have been terminated. Officials said that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
