High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) are mandatory for all vehicles in India to ensure vehicle security and combat counterfeiting, tampering, and vehicle-related crimes. HSRPs are made from aluminium and feature advanced security elements like a chromium hologram, laser-etched PIN, and non-removable snap-locks.

HSRP Registration Process

The HSRP registration process can be completed online through the official government portal ‘Book My HSRP’ (bookmyhsrp.com) in states like Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Here are the steps:

2Select ‘non-transport’ if your vehicle is for private use
3Submit the form and you will receive login credentials on your registered mobile number
4Login and make the payment. A payment receipt will be generated
5You will be notified once your HSRP is ready for installation

For other states, you can visit your Regional Transport Office (RTO) to get your HSRP.

HSRP Charges

The HSRP charges vary across states and vehicle categories. On average, it costs around Rs. 400 for two-wheelers and up to Rs. 1,100 for four-wheelers. An additional Rs. 100 is charged for the colour-coded sticker.
