Recently, a shocking case has come to light from France. Actually, a case is going on against a 71-year-old man for getting his 72-year-old wife raped by 72 strangers for 10 years. The woman was continuously drugged and raped 92 times in 10 years. This accused named Dominic P used to contact strangers online and call them to his house and get his wife raped. All this was going on since 2011 and continued for more than a decade.
Made rules for the men coming home
According to The Sun, Dominic had made rules for the men he called to rape his wife Gisele Pélicot. For example, they should neither wake Gisele up with drugs, nor apply aftershave, nor come after smoking cigarettes. One rule was that they should come to his house with their nails cut. The alleged attackers were also instructed to park their cars away from the house and take off their clothes in the kitchen to avoid accidentally leaving any clothes in the bedroom. Reportedly, Dominic also asked the men to wash their cold hands in hot water before going to Gisele so that Gisele would not wake up. All these 72 men who sexually abused the woman were between 26 and 74 years old.
How was the dark secret of husband’s brutality revealed?
The sexual abuse of the woman allegedly started for the first time in 2011 and continued for about ten years. But it came to light in 2020 when the police arrested Dominic for shooting videos of women from under their skirts. During the investigation of this case, the officers were shocked to find such evidence from his house. Then his wife came to know about the incidents of rape with herself which she had been suffering for years without knowing.
51 men accused of rape have been identified
Apart from Dominique, 51 of the 72 rapists have been identified and serious charges have been leveled against them. According to prosecutors, the husband was also one of the rapists and he encouraged the men to abuse his wife. He also made several videos of his misdeeds. According to a BBC report, the woman’s lawyers say that the woman was kept in such a state of unconsciousness that she was not aware of the repeated abuse. This case has shaken France.

Reportedly, no money was exchanged. The ‘rapists’ come from different age groups, professions and backgrounds. They include a company boss, a journalist, a fire brigade officer and a forklift driver. Some of them are married, some are single and some are divorced. Some are even family persons.

Even after knowing the dark truth about her husband and the rape, Giselle gave up her legal right to remain anonymous and came out openly. She says that she wants to raise as much awareness as possible about the case. Giselle’s lawyer, Antoine Camus, told the outlet, ‘She could have opted for a closed trial, but this is what her attackers wanted. Whereas she wants the faces of the accused to be revealed to everyone.
She doesn’t want to be alone in a closed courtroom with her attackers for four months. She knows her every word will be scrutinized, and questioned by the defense, so she’s preparing herself. Now, she has to live with the knowledge of the rapes she endured for 10 years without knowing. She literally has no memory of what happened to her.
The case is ongoing in court and 20 out of the 51 accused, including Dominic Pellicot, remain in custody, while the rest are out on bail.
