It was a great two games to kick off the new season, and we’re set for some great games the rest of the weekend. But which teams should be on upset alert heading into their season openers?

Here are five teams that are on upset alert ahead of Week 1.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, vs Washington Commanders

Tampa Bay has reached the divisional round of the postseason, and they are looking to build on that this year. They have quarterback Baker Mayfield for two years with the organization, but for some reason, people don’t get too high on him.

He gets a matchup with No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels to start the year, and Washington could be victorious if they’re not careful. While rookies typically struggle at times, Daniels is a killer on the football field, and if they take him lightly, he’ll tear the Buccaneers’ hearts out.

4. Houston Texans, @ Indianapolis Colts

While the Colts may compete for a playoff spot this season, Houston has Super Bowl expectations. Any time a team starts the year against a divisional opponent, it can be tough so Houston will need to be careful.

Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is coming back from injury, so what better way to remind people than to upset the Texans? Houston, you may have a problem on Sunday.

3. San Francisco 49ers, vs New York Jets

It’s a little tough to call this an upset if the Jets win, but the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl last season. New York will have a star quarterback Aaron Rogers Back from injury and will be ready to show.

San Francisco is coming off another Super Bowl loss and is seen by many as the favorite to win the NFC. Can the pressure be on them in the opening game? If that happens, Rodgers will likely take advantage and lead the Jets to a big road win.

2. Cincinnati Bengals, vs New England Patriots

The main reason is that Cincinnati is on upset alert this week if they could be without one or both of their starting wide receivers. Wideout Tee Higgins is dealing with a hamstring injury and is listed as questionable for the game.

His co-star Ja’Mar Chase has been dealing with a contract dispute all offseason and said it was a game-time decision for Sunday. If either or both miss the game, the Bengals may find themselves relying on some inexperienced offensive weapons.

Even against the Patriots, Cincinnati could run into some trouble.

1. Buffalo Bills, vs Arizona Cardinals

The Bills had a strange offseason, as they lost both Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. Buffalo will enter the year with some inexperience at the wide receiver spot, giving them some pause to be their top team this season.

Kyler Murray is ready to go in Arizona, and a young team would love nothing more than to make a statement to start the year. Winning in Buffalo isn’t easy, but the Cardinals have the right amount of talent to make it happen this early in the season.
