2 Army Jawans arrested for demanding ransom of 70 lakhs and threatening to kill

A businessman in Faridkot, Punjab was asked to pay a ransom of Rs 70 lakh over the phone and was threatened with death if he did not pay. On the complaint of the businessman, the police registered an FIR in the case. Then the police investigated the phone call with the help of its technical team and found the numbers of two army personnel who were residents of the same area. After this, the police arrested both of them.

Actually, Faridkot police has solved a ransom case in which a shocking incident has come to light. A few days ago, a businessman from Kotkapura area of ​​Faridkot was asked to pay a ransom of Rs 70 lakh and was threatened to be killed if he did not pay. The businessman informed the police about this matter.

Police is investigating the matter

When the police took cognizance of the matter and investigated, the person demanding ransom turned out to be not a criminal or gangster but an army jawan who is currently serving in the army. The police have arrested them and are investigating whether these two had made this plan alone or someone else is also involved in their plan.

SP said this in the matter

SP Jasmeet Singh said that a ransom of Rs 70 lakh was demanded from a businessman of Kotkapura. After the complaint, an FIR was registered against unknown people. An investigation was started, which revealed that two army jawans living in a village in Kotkapura area had demanded this ransom. We have arrested them and presented them in the court. Further interrogation will be done by taking police remand.
