1990 batch IPS Daljit Singh Chaudhary becomes the new DG of BSF, takes additional charge

The central government on Saturday appointed Daljit Singh Chaudhary as the new chief of the Border Security Force after the premature return of outgoing BSF DG Nitin Agarwal. An order issued by the Union Home Ministry said that Daljit Singh Chaudhary, a 1990 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, will hold the additional charge of the post of BSF Director General till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders.

Director General of Border Security Force Daljit Singh Chaudhary took additional charge as Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday. Daljit Singh Chaudhary, a 1990 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, took over from Nitin Agarwal. Nitin Agarwal was sent back to his parent cadre by the central government on Friday.

Daljit Singh Chaudhary is the Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). This force guards India’s borders with Nepal and Bhutan. The ACC (Appointments Committee of the Cabinet) on Friday also ordered the immediate repatriation of Nitin Agarwal’s deputy and Special DG (West) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania to his parent cadre Odisha.
