1600 Apple iPhones worth ₹12 crore stolen, SHO and ASI on line duty for negligence, head constable suspended

A big case of robbery has come to light in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. On Lakhnadon-Jhansi highway, the miscreants tied the hands and feet of a container driver and looted mobiles worth Rs 12 crore of Apple company loaded in the truck. The driver kept visiting Bandri police station to file a report, but even after 15 days the report was not filed. The matter reached IG Pramod Verma. He himself reached Bandri police station on Thursday night and inquired about the whole case. For negligence in filing the FIR, Bandri police station in-charge Bhagchand Uike, ASI Rajendra Pandey were line attached. At the same time, head constable Rajesh Pandey has been suspended.

On 14th August, a container (UP 14 PT 0103) carrying expensive Apple mobiles left from Hyderabad for Delhi. A security guard was also present with the container driver. Near Lakhnadon, another security guard was also supposed to board the container. Near Lakhnadon, the security guard in the container stopped the container to have tea. The security guard introduced a person already present there to the driver and said, this guard will also come with us.

After this, the truck driver left with both the security guards. When the truck driver felt sleepy, he parked the container on the side and went to sleep. Both the security guards also went to sleep. The next day, i.e. on 15th August, when the container driver woke up, he was in Bandri located on the highway. His hands, legs and mouth were tied.

Somehow the driver freed his hands and legs and when he looked at the back of the truck, its gate was open and the mobiles were missing. Both the security guards sitting in the container were found missing. It is suspected that half of the mobiles loaded in the container have been stolen. The miscreants ran away with 1600 mobile phones kept in the container.

The container driver immediately informed the Bandri police station about the incident. But the police was negligent in this whole matter. When IG Pramod Verma came to know about the matter, he reached Bandri police station. After getting information about the whole matter, he gave instructions to take action against the negligent policemen.

Sagar Range IG Pramod Verma said that about 1600 mobiles have been stolen. 5 teams have been formed. Investigation is being done at toll booths and other places. The police have examined the CCTV footage installed at toll booths on the Lakhnadon-Jhansi highway.

Officials of Apple company, transport company, security guards and others were questioned. Investigation is going on on all aspects of the incident. Also, three policemen including Bandari police station in-charge have been removed for negligence. It is worth noting that an FIR will be registered after investigation of the case.
