1500 iPhones worth 11 crore stolen from a truck, action taken against 3 policemen

A shocking incident of robbery of about 1500 iPhones worth Rs 11 crore has come to light in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. The robbers carried out this entire incident by drugging the truck driver. Now in this case, Madhya Pradesh Police has suspended a policeman on charges of negligence and has suspended two personnel.

Sagar’s Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Uikey said that those who took the phone have claimed that the robbery was carried out on August 15 by drugging the truck driver and gagging him.

He said, “We are verifying the transporters’ claim that about 1,500 iPhones worth Rs 11 crore were looted. Apple, which manufactures these phones, has not yet contacted the police. I am at the spot, about 35 km from the district headquarters, and the truck is being videographed.”

‘Robbery took place near Narsinghpur district’

Sanjay Uik said, “The container was going from Gurugram in Haryana to Chennai. The robbery started when the container was in the nearby Narsinghpur district. A case will be registered soon after the initial investigation is completed.”

‘Action taken on 3 policemen’

The officer said that on Friday, Inspector General of Police, Sagar Zone, Pramod Verma, line-attached Bandri police station in-charge inspector Bhagchand Uike and assistant sub-inspector Rajendra Pandey and suspended head constable Rajesh Pandey for negligence in the case.

The additional SP said the personnel against whom action was taken did not lodge a complaint even after the truck driver contacted them informing them about the incident.
