100 year old love letter found under the floor, inside it was a secret affair

Sometimes we find something buried in the cupboard or wall of an old house which is decades old. Sometimes it is a treasure and sometimes an old secret. Recently something similar happened with a family in Britain. 48-year-old Dawn Cornes told Jam Press that she was cleaning the house with her 14-year-old son Locus when suddenly a 55-inch TV fell on the floor. As a result, some tiles of that place broke but something was found under these tiles which was surprising.

Actually this was a very old love letter which was written by a man named Ronald Habgood to a married woman. It talked about their secret relationship.

first love letter

When Don posted this in a Facebook group, people started trying to understand it. It read – ‘My own darling. Will you try to come and meet me every morning. But don’t tell anyone. This should remain our secret because you are a married woman and if someone comes to know that you are meeting me, there will be trouble. I love you very much, if you can meet me at Fulwood Tram Corner at midnight, then meet me every day. I am waiting to meet you, yours, Ronald.’

100 year old love letter

The letter was not dated but Dawn was told her house was built in 1917 – although she moved in last May so doesn’t know much about the previous occupants. Meanwhile, other online decoders speculated that the writing and size of the paper suggested the letter was from the 1920s – about 100 years old.

The fact that the letter was quite old also showed that it mentioned trams, which stopped running in the city 80 years ago. Some people on social media tried to trace Ronald through online archives but to no avail. People commented a lot on the post related to this on Facebook. One user wrote – Look, what an important piece of history was hidden in your house. Another wrote – This is my favorite post till date.
