Womens Christian College

The college was established by 12 missionary societies from England, Canada, and the United States, with a mission to provide liberal arts and sciences education to women in India. The motto “Lighted to lighten” reflects the college’s commitment to illuminating the path for women to achieve their full potential. Initially affiliated with the University of Madras, WCC gained autonomy in 1982 and is currently a government-aided minority institution.
